Pitch Perfect 2: Film Review

Until a few weeks ago I thought that everybody loved the first movie, and have, like me, been suffering the long wait for Pitch Perfect 2 to hit the cinemas.. But apparently not. Having been working with my colleagues for 8 months, I naturally assumed that they have the same 'fabulous' taste in films as myself, however when a few people announced that they thought Pitch Perfect was 'disappointing', I was shocked- I think it's aca-awesome!

As always, when a sequel to such a popular film comes out there is some speculation over whether or not it will be as good as the first; but fear not, Pitch Perfect 2 is great! There's nothing I love more than a trip to the cinema with my comfiest jeans and a bag full of treats, especially when it's after a hard day at work.

It seemed that all of those watching enjoyed the film, with its emotional ups and downs and laugh out loud moments; what's not to love? The musical aspects of the film (a large majority!) were as equally well put together as the first film; classics such as 'Bootylicious' pop up throughout the movie, as well as the more recent hits like 'Run the World'- you'd never guess that I liked Beyoncé would you!? There is such a wide variety of music throughout, I can guarantee that you'll be carelessly tapping your toes.

With a relatively good storyline, a variety of music and Fat Amy jokes by the bucketload, what more could you ask for in a summer flick? There is something about a group of peppy, aca-pella singing girls looking to the future that puts a smile on your face. In an unknown way, I feel as though I can relate. The future is scary, so why not sing?

Have you seen Pitch Perfect 2? Let me know what you think!
