Skincare for Your Hands

Now I don't know about you, but I feel as though the first day of October flicked some sort of weather switch here in the UK? Granted we've had the occasional sunny spell (and that ever so unexpected heatwave!), but following that has been drizzle, grey clouds and suuuper chilly weather. To me, it feels as though we've skipped through Autumn and have hit mid-Winter.. my poor fingers and toes don't know what's hit them!

I've always been one for looking after my extremities (apart from those few terrible years of avid nail biting!), so I like to invest in good quality products that do the trick, with little effort; despite being a huge fan of an evening dedicated to pampering myself, working in a bar and restaurant sadly leaves very little opportunity for the latter.. Over the past few months I feel as though I have secured a few firm favourites for dealing with the damage that our hands suffer from day to day activities- and the best part is, they can be used for your feet too!

I've you've been reading my blog for some time, you will know that I am a huuuge fan of scrubs; whether it's for your face or your feet, there is no greater feeling than having all of the nasties removed from the skins surface (followed by a big old helping of moisturiser, of course!) I find that this coconut scrub works best when applied to slightly damp hands, although it can be used directly on dry skin for a more intense scrub. Sea salt and coconut oil make the perfect combination; the sea salt buffs away any dead skin cells, whilst the coconut oil nourishes and moisturises.. I've found a (very late!) love for coconut oil of late, the amount of things that it's good for is insane.

It wasn't long ago that I added this little tub of joy to my collection, but I can honestly say that I've never looked back- despite it's 50g size, it last foreverI find that a pea sized blob applied to your fingers is just the right amount to provide ultimate moisture, without feeling sticky; it does take a little while to soak in, but that's the beauty of it- send your partner to make you a cuppa, then sit back and relax! Alas, this cuticle butter isn't limited to your fingers and toes, it can be applied to any dry areas on or around the body; knees, elbows, you name it!

The Body Shop Hand Cream: Frosted Berry & Vanilla Chai
A few months back I dipped my toes into the pool of The Body Shop; I know I know, where have I been all my life, right!? Their range of hand creams is second to none, so I treated myself to a little selection.. It wasn't until recently that I took a trip into store and saw that their Christmas range had launched (which smells incredible!) so I eagerly grabbed 2 of the 3 festive scents that they had to offer- spiced apple just isn't for me. Made with natural ingredients, these hand creams don't just smell dreamy, they leave your skin feeling buttery soft too; plus they absorb super quickly meaning that you can apply them on the go- perfecto.
