Making Some Changes with NutriBuddy UK

As many of you know, at the start of the Summer I made the decision to make some small but significant changes to both my diet and fitness regime. As somebody that suffers with IBS and an intolerance to foods with a high gluten content, I found myself stuck in a rut that was starting to have a very negative impact on my attitude towards myself. I know that we all jump on the 'new year new me' bandwagon, but it took me until the middle of June to realise that things needed to change...

I couldn't be happier with my results so far, and I intend to keep it up. I feel as though I should mention that my goal has never been to lose weight, but instead to have a healthier relationship with food and to find the things that work best for me; I wanted to gain control of my body. At the start of September, NutriBuddy got in touch and offered me the chance to trial their 14 day Weight Loss Starter Kit. As I said before, weight loss has never been my goal, however after reading about NutriBuddy's ability to boost metabolism, as well as providing the body with much needed proteins and vitamins, I was keen to try it out! All products within the kit can be used alone, however when combined are likely to provide the best results.

The Starter Kit includes the following:
NutriBuddy Sculpting Whey (either chocolate or vanilla- I opted for Chocolate!)
NutriBuddy Multivitamins
NutriBuddy Hunger Fix Tablets
NutriBuddy Shaker (a choice of either black or red- unsurprisingly I went for black, to match my workout gear!)

I'm going to admit that I have never used any form of supplement or protein before, as I have always been a little sceptical; however my partner has been using protein powder for years and swears by its success, so when NutriBuddy got in touch, he urged me to accept! The NutriBuddy Sculpting Whey comes in two flavours, chocolate and vanilla, and tastes exactly like a milkshake (result!); it is an 80% whey-based product and contains natural weight loss aids such as green tea, guarana and chromium. The purpose of this particular product is to help boost your metabolism, curb hunger and assist with fat burning; after completing my 14 day trial and drinking a shake a day, I found that I had a lot more energy and felt far less sluggish. I opted for using the NutriBuddy sculpting whey as a snack opposed to a meal replacement, preferring to eat my meals as normal and listen to my body- when I would usually feel the urge to snack on sweet treats, I had a shake instead!

Out of all of the products provided, I found the Hunger Fix to be the least worth while. After using these for the first week, I saw results in terms of weight loss, however was left with an aching pain in my stomach shortly after consumption; as weight loss wasn't my sole goal, I decided to continue the remaining 7 days without them. These tablets are made with glucomannan, which is a natural plant extract from the root of the konjac plant- there are no nasties inside, so I am putting my lack of success with them down to my unsettled stomach. Hunger Fix are to be taken 15 minutes before meal time, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner; one should be enough, but if a little extra help is needed you can take 2 tablets, but not exceeding 6 per day. They are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, however are not recommended for anybody under the age of 18.

Multivitamins are something that I have been incorporating into my morning routine for the past couple of years, so I was more than happy to top up my stash with the 14 day sample included in the starter kit. Although these particular tablets are a little larger than the ones that I'm used to, I found them to be easy to swallow with a large glass of water. Taking multivitamins on a daily basis provides a number of great health benefits, such as strengthening the immune system, reducing tiredness, supporting the release of energy from the food consumed and helping to produce healthy blood cells. These particular tablets include vitamins E, A and B, as well as zinc and copper.

Alongside the products within the starter kit, NutriBuddy also provided me with a recipe book filled with quick and easy meal ideas; it is never a good idea to skip meals, however as a full time student with two part time jobs it can be difficult to find the time to cook myself something nutritious. There are a selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas included, as well as recipes for both smoothies and shakes- I am yet to try anything too adventurous, however as soon as I purchase another kilo of sculpting whey I am planning on getting creative!

Having completed the 14 day NutriBuddy trial, as well as continuing to use the sculpting whey for an extra couple of weeks on top of this, I am feeling much better in myself. Combined with eating better and exercising regularly, I have suffered a lot less bloating and am seeing noticeable changes in the appearance of my body. As well as this, I have found that by drinking the sculpting whey after exercising I have a lot more energy and have been less likely to snack throughout the day. 1. I've been looking for something like this, so glad I came across this post. As someone who suffers with IBS, I'm always apprehensive about trying things like shakes and tablets. Definitely going to give this a go!

    Thanks
