How to Pick Yourself Up

We all have set backs, but there's no use in giving up, no matter how tempting it may be. We're all far too familiar with the feeling that things just aren't going the way want them to and sometimes it can feel as though it is lasting forever; days, weeks, even a month, it can be down right exhausting. But don't panic, there are some things that you can do to help yourself, here are some of my top tips on bouncing back..

Take a step back: Don't get me wrong, I'm a drama queen. But there's a fine line between  feeling sad and feeling sorry for yourself; try and look on the bright side, put things into perspective. No matter how big or small the problem is, try and look at it from 'outside of the box', there's always something that you can take away from it, no matter how frustrating it may seem at the time.

Don't Dwell: When things go wrong it's easy to get sucked into over thinking and dwelling on the minor details of a situation. Do something to take your mind off of things; reading always works for me, and I've hopped on the 'adult colouring' bandwagon too. Although it can be hard, sometimes you just have to move on and focus on what is yet to come- great things could be coming your way and you don't even know it yet!

Focus on Yourself: Sometimes it's okay to be a little bit selfish, we have to be every now and then. I've always been one for writing lists, I write them for everything; does anybody else have this problem!? As terribly sad as it sounds, when you're feeling down, a list of good things about yourself can be oh so inspiring. It is so easy to find yourself dwelling on the bad, that you forget about the good. We're all fab!

Get Motivated: The title says it all; find something that you love and get motivated! Whether that's hitting the gym or writing a blog post, get your mojo back!

Spread Positivity: Although it's good to focus on yourself, I don't know anybody who would turn down a little bit of positivity! Help a sister out. We all know how tough life can be, so whether it's something as simple as a phone call, or a coffee date, you will both feel a heck of a lot better.

Summer is in full swing, the evening the sun is starting to shine, there's no time for blues. Does anybody have any tips on how to pick yourself up when you're feeling low?
