Braving Individuality

Now by no means would I say that I am particularly 'fashionable', but in this day and age, I really don't think that's an issue. In the field of work that I'm in, it is my job to pick key, on-trend pieces and wear them in a way that represents my personal style; whether I look fashionable or not, well that's another story. The idea of personal style has definitely changed with the rise of blogging, vlogging and social media, with well known names inspiring others to be confident enough to wear exactly what they want.. Who said it wasn't cool to wear pleated trousers anyway!? We are still bombarded with celebrity images left right and centre, but I know for me, I tend to pay more attention to street style trends, as I find that they are much more relevant when it comes to my own style (and price range!).

I'm sure that I'm not the only person that went through that awkward stage of not knowing what styles looked right on me, and not being certain that I could pull off slightly more extravagant looks; its in our human nature to be considerate of what others may think when making decisions, whether it's deciding which car to drive, or if THIS beret goes with THAT bardot.. Believe me, it's not as trivial as you may think! But more to the point, I feel as though I have now come out of that slump, and am pretty certain of the styles that I like to wear, whilst being semi-confident enough to wear them. If you're into frenchies, and want to wear a shirt plastered in them, then go for it! You shouldn't have to hide it, plus I bet it would look super cute.

Style isn't just about following trends, or copying outfits that you've seen elsewhere, it's about finding your niché and rocking it! Don't get me wrong, there's nothing I love more than injecting new items into my wardrobe, however, I still feel the need to wear stripes at least 3 times a week, because they're super versatile and make me feel all kinds of Parisian (and a little bit sassy too!)

  1. Really nice post and I LOVE that bag!! I've had my eye on a Kate Spade bag for a while now and thought I was set in what I would get but after seeing this one I may be changing my mind again!! x

    1. You can't go wrong with a Kate Spade bag; they're dreamy. Although they're a little on the pricey side I would say they're an investment- go for it girl! X

  2. Love, love LOVE this outfit! It's so elegant and chic. Holly x

    1. Thank you Holly! Plisse trousers are my favourite transitional piece from Summer to Autumn XX
