Blogging Goals for 2016

As another year comes to an end, it is time to reflect; 2015 has been a good'en, both personally and for my blog.. I have written for Unidays on several occasions and have seen a steady increase in readers- hooray! Despite starting my blog in 2014, it wasn't until this year that I started taking it a little more seriously, and tried to produce more regular content for you lovely people. But although I'm all about reflection, this post is dedicated to what I want to achieve in 2016- blog wise that is!

I thought I'd get this post in today, as by midday on January 1st you're likely to be incredibly tired of reading these posts! I'm not one for New Years resolutions, as by mid-February (on a good year!) I've already broken the majority, so it seemed more appropriate to simply set myself some goals that I want to achieve in 2016. Also, by writing them here, and sharing them with all of you, I'm less likely to forget what they are!

1. Expand my following. Now don't get me wrong, I don't blog because I want people to follow me, and over the past year I have seen an increase in viewers; however in 2016 I am going to work towards reaching a greater number of Bloglovin followers- so click the link here.

2. Post more regularly. Sometimes it's hard to produce content, as life quite simply gets in the way! But in the new year I am going to try and post on an alternate day basis; I currently post once or twice a week (although I slightly upped my game over Christmas!), but am determined to increase my regularity. Does anybody else find photography the most time consuming part? I'm a perfectionist, so no matter how many pre-written posts I have, until the photos to go with it are right, I'm stuck!

3. Did someone say YouTube? Over the past year I have become a heck of a lot more interested in vlogging; I have spent time watching other people's videos, so I think, why can't I do it too!? So keep your eyes peeled, you may be watching my Vlogmas in 2016.

4. Get involved with other bloggers- this is an exciting one! Although I read a lot of blogs, from fashion to food, I am very keen to colab with a few fellow bloggers. As well as this, I am determined to make the effort to comment more consistently on other people's posts; I know how happy it makes me to receive feedback, so I intend to return the favour!

5. Although this isn't strictly blog related, I intend to keep a diary for the entirety of the year; I haven't done this since 2014 despite it being something that I really enjoy doing. I received a '5 Year Diary' for Christmas, so at the end of 2020 I can look back and remember all of the wonderful things that I have done!

6. Put more of 'me' in my blog. This sounds like a funny one, but after all, it is MY blog.. I tend to get carried away writing lifestyle pieces and goodness knows what, that I sometimes forget that it can be nice for people to have a little snippet, or somewhat of an update, about real life. This year I want to make my blog a little more personal, so be prepared!

7. Get a bit more snap happy! I've always said that photography is my weakest point when it comes to blogging, so I'm going to make an effort to improve. Whether it's YouTube tutorials, attending a class or two, or simply getting friends involved, I want to add some more variation to my blog photos. Linking to this, a more personal goal, I intend to document every aspect of 2016; a lot went on this year, and I'm sad to say that very little was captured on camera- not this year.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy new year, and thank you for all of your support throughout 2015. I hope that like myself, you are excited to see what the new year shall bring. Whether you're staying in, or going out, stay safe and have fun!
