As autumn has officially arrived here in the UK (although tbh it's been creeping up on us since mid-July) I have taken full advantage of the changing weather and brought out just about every chunky knit known to man- because if you can't wear at least 3 layers then is it really even November? I find the season of autumn super comforting and that is largely down to way that my style changes; I am by no means a summer dresser, so as soon as it becomes acceptable to wear ankle boots, roll-necks and a bobble hat every day the excitement becomes WAY too real. This year following the 'rise of the the glasses' I decided that I would utilise my frames, using them to accessorise rather than as a necessity... it's so easy to get stuck in a rut with style (yep, even in autumn) but I have found that by adding just a POP of tortoise shell it instantly transforms my outfit into something that looks a little more put together- which is always a plus! As somebody with neither the budget nor the desire to own a different pair of glasses for every occasion, when settling on a pair of frames I have to consider the fact that not only must they look good, but they have to last.
I recently picked up a pair of glasses on a whim after getting a new prescription, and as much as I love them I can't shake the feeling that the quality just isn't there, so when Glasses Direct gave me the opportunity to find my perfect pair I jumped at the chance! They offer a free home trial service which is super helpful if you aren't quite sure which style suits you best, and although I have opted for my 'safe shape' for years I recently took the time to try on a shed-load finding that there were so many styles that looked far better than I had originally thought (and a lot of shockers too, but the less said about that the better) After much deliberation I decided on the Hoxton glasses by London Retro; despite not being a brand that I had heard of before, I am now madly in love with the entirety of the collection... did I hear somebody say Christmas present!? I bloody love my new frames and if you too are looking to spice up your autumn wardrobe, I would 100% recommend checking out Glasses Direct; they stock a huge range of brands, with snazzy frames at affordable prices. Whether you're into tortoiseshell like myself, or prefer something a little more sleek and sophisticated (defo not me) there is something for everybody- WINNER!
